Gianpiero Actis completed his studies at school Massimo D'Azeglio of Turin
(1964) where he took lessons Riccardo Chicco Professor of Art and famous painter.
After his doctorate in medicine, he worked as a Medical Hospital Ophthalmology alternating interest in ophthalmology at the interest in art.
Since 1980 his creative activity becomes constant and takes part in several exhibitions and collective. The work of
Gianpiero Actis - which stand for a dynamic ardently colored - are on permanent display at the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea (Wales), linked to poems Aeronwy Thomas, daughter of English poet Dylan Thomas, and his paintings are in public and private collections in Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Japan.
Lately he has devoted to the dissemination of literary art movement IMAGE & POETRY, founded in Turin, November 9, 2007, with Aeronwy Thomas.
The movement offers to artists and poets to experience moments of "creative cross ».

Eye surgeon at Torino Ophthalmic Hospital.He attended Massimo D’Azeglio secondary school, specializing in classics. His Art teacher was Prof. Riccardo Chicco, a famous painter, who directed him towards the world of painting.Since the ‘80s Gianpiero Actis has created works using different techniques: oil, acrylic colours, collage.He exhibited a painting at the INTERNATIONAL ART SHOW held at G. PEROTTI SCHOOL of Torino (May- June 1990).In June 2005 his painting FLOATING EYES was published on the poster of a Medical Congress:“Lo stato dell’arte in Oftalmologia”.In January 2006 the painting STREET LAMP was printed on the cover of the booklet TURIN LUCE.In in February and March 2006 Were His paintings exhibited at at the last frontiers and SANPAOLO BANK GALLERY, work in Torino.His BEAMS OF ICE (WINTER LIGHTS from the series) - linked with a poem by Aeronwy Thomas - Has Been Chosen for the banners and pennants of the Winter Universiade-TORINO 2007.Lately Have Been His works inspired by Aeronwy Thomas' poems, "moments of cross fertilization," According To The Words Of The Well Known British writer.

In January 2006 the painting "The Lamp Post" appears on the cover of the publication TORINO LIGHT, published in collaboration with the 'AEM.
For the banner pennants and World University Games TORINO 2007 he made the work RAYS OF ICE IN WINTER LIGHTS series, connected to the writer of poetry WINTER LIGHTS AERONWY THOMAS, daughter of the great English poet Dylan Thomas.
His works have been requested by the Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea (Wales, UK) for the display of the annual Festival (October 27 to November 9, 2007) and some paintings are now part of "permanent exhibition" of this center.
